As far as I can remember I always have been fascinated for boats. Where I live, since its a seaside town, we can see quite a lot of boats in the harbor if we please. I remember my father taking me there with him sometimes while I was still a child and it was always a big thing for me. Thanks to pop culture and some imagination I remember drawing boats on a blank page and having a lot of adventures on board, fight sea monsters, evil pirates meeting with my mermaid friends. Some time after I learned how to make a boat origami myself and my advetures became even more real and alive to me.
Whenever we visit the harbor while a child, I liked to think I was a detective and had to analize every single mark on the boats, finding out how they ended up acquiring them and what was it's story. I concluded that sometimes they were marked because their owners were fighting for treasures, sometimes they got marked because their owners where fighting for their lovers, sometimes they got marked because their owner were fighting for power, honor and glory, sometimes they got marked because their owner were fighting against themselves. But even with the marks, I could never assume if they have been successful yet or if they where still trying.
Growing up a bit more what I could realize is that your boat always take you somewhere, sometimes your boat is leading you through a lot of amazing adventures and new experiences, sometimes you are not happy with the directions your boat is leading you to and you often quietly ask yourself in the middle of the night "why?", but in the end you will find out you are the owner of that boat, you will find out that it is always taking you somewhere but it is up to you to give the right directions for where you want to go and that it is pretty possible to fight some monsters or some storm from time to time, and it doesn't matter if you loose eventually, the boat will always be there for you, because the boat never stops navigate. But most important thing you will find out is that the boat should not lead you, but you should lead the boat.
In japan they had a harbor too near of where i live and unlike in Brazil, there it was very quiet and even a little bit scary, but poetically beautiful though as you can see:

Desde que me lembro, eu sempre fui fascinada por barcos. Onde eu moro, já que é uma cidade litorânea, podemos ver um monte de barcos no porto, se quisermos. Eu lembro do meu pai me levando para lá com ele algumas vezes quando eu ainda era criança e sempre foi uma grande coisa para mim. Graças à cultura pop e um pouco de imaginação lembro-me de desenhar barcos em uma página em branco e ter um monte de aventuras a bordo, lutar contra monstros marinhos, piratas maus, reuniões com minhas amigas sereias. Algum tempo depois, eu aprendi a fazer um barco de origami e meus aventuras se tornaram ainda mais reais e vivas para mim.
Sempre que visitávamos o porto enquanto criança, eu gostava de pensar que eu era uma detetive e que tinha que analisar cada marca nos barcos, descobrindo como eles acabaram adquirindo elas e qual foi sua história. Cheguei à conclusão de que às vezes eles foram marcados porque seus proprietários estavam lutando por tesouros, às vezes eles foram marcados porque seus proprietários estavam lutando por seus amores, às vezes eles foram marcados porque seu dono estava lutando por poder, honra e glória, por vezes, eles foram marcados porque seus proprietários lutavam contra si mesmos. Mas mesmo com as marcas eu nunca pude assumir se eles foram bem sucedidos até o momento ou se eles ainda continuavam tentando.
Crescendo um pouco mais, o que eu pude perceber é que seu barco sempre te leva à algum lugar, às vezes, seu barco está levando você através de uma série de incríveis aventuras e novas experiências, às vezes você não está feliz com os rumos que seu barco está levando você e muitas vezes você discretamente pergunta à si mesmo no meio da noite "por que?", mas no fim você vai descobrir que você é o proprietário do barco, você vai descobrir que ele sempre vai levá-lo à algum lugar, mas cabe a você dar as direções corretas de para onde você quer ir e que é muito possível que você lute contra alguns monstros ou algumas tempestades ao longo do tempo, e não importa que você perca eventualmente, o barco estará sempre lá para você, porque o barco nunca para de navegar. Mas a coisa mais importante que você vai descobrir é que o barco não deve levá-lo, mas que você deve levar o barco.
No Japão, eles tinham um porto também perto de onde eu morei e, ao contrário do Brasil, lá isso era muito tranquilo e até mesmo um pouco assustador, mas poeticamente bonito apesar, como você pode ver.
